Surgeons in Henan have removed a 0.5kg lump of hair from the stomach
of a 12-year old girl who had a one year history of wasting. The girl's
mother said her daughter used to have long hair down to her waist and
often put it in her mouth, but she never imagined she was eating and
swallowing it. When she started to lose weight and go off her food, she
was taken to the hospital for examination. A CT scan revealed the
stomach blockage, and the hair was removed in a one hour operation.
